Tony is a huge fan of animated tv shows, family guy, american dad, futurama etc. It’s an unspoken rule in Stark Tower that when they’re on, no one is allowed to so much as touch the remote. Not even to check the time. The Avengers don’t really mind, if they don’t like it, they often go and find their own ways to entertain themselves.
On one particular day, all of them are sat watching Futurama, the one where the Hypnotoad makes an appearance. And it’s Tony that, after five minutes claps his hands together and announces that the Hypnotoad reminds him of Loki. Needless to say, Thor isn’t too happy with his brother being likened to a toad with weird eyes. And Clint is semi-uncomfortable for the simple fact he was turned into one of Loki’s “personal flying monkey’s”. Tony disregards it, and from that day forward, Loki’s codename is hypnotoad.
