There is never any big fight over the alcohol. It grates on Steve for a long time and then one night he comes to Tony and quietly tells him about his father. About the drinking, the fights, the squandering what little money they had and making his mother cry. Tony says nothing and they go to bed as usual but the next morning he pours all of his scotch down the sink.
