While studying footage of their previous fights, Steve realizes something very, very important about Bruce while he’s the Other Guy: he’s not so much a mindless smashing machine as he is a tactical demolition expert. He destroys, surely, but he destroys in such a way that what he’s destroying comes apart in the most efficient way possible. Even while Hulked out, Bruce is still a genius.
Steve takes Bruce aside and shows him this. Bruce is so overwhelmed that he takes off for a week to meditate on it. When he comes back, the first thing he does is wordlessly hug Steve.
